چکیده
Mutant prevention concentration (MPC) is an in vitro test used to determine the lowest drug needed inhibit growth of a single-step-mutant bacterial subpopulation. The purpose this study was MPC value ciprofloxacin against pathogenic Escherichia coli obtained range mutant selection windows (MSW) ciprofloxacin. Ciprofloxacin quinolone group that included Highest Priority Critically Important Antimicrobials for Human Medicine but also treatment infections production animals. Twenty-four E. isolates sensitive were tested obtain values and minimum inhibitory (MIC) values. Test MIC get MSW done by method agar dilution. Mueller-Hinton containing standard inoculated with 1010 cfu 104 test. Based on results, 4-64 μg / mL (22.96 ± 19.07 mL) there one isolate which had MPC> 256 mL. These results give wide lower limit 0.25 - 2 µg (0.55 0.37 upper mL). assessment it can be concluded dose animals has allow single-step mutants.

Construction of an iss deleted mutant strain from a native avian pathogenic Escherichia coli O78: K80 and in vitro serum resistance evaluation of mutant
BACKGROUND: Colibacillosis, caused by different serotypes of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC), is one of the important diseases in poultry industry. The isolate O78 is the most prevalent serotype of APEC in Iran. One of the APEC virulence factors, increased serum survival (iss) gene, is related to serum resistance. The usual form of colibacillosis in avian is extraintestinal, and serum ...
متن کاملEffect of dietary protein concentration on responses to Escherichia coli endotoxin in broiler chickens.
The effect of dietary protein concentration on stress responses against injection of Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was studied in male broiler chickens. Chickens (7 d of age) were fed on a 100 (low-protein; LP) or 300 g protein/kg (high-protein; HP) diet for 2 weeks. LPS was injected intraperitoneally every 2 d during the final 6 d, or once 16 h before the end of the experiment, at ...
متن کاملMutant prevention concentration of orbifloxacin: comparison between Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus pseudintermedius of canine origin
BACKGROUND The mutant prevention concentration (MPC) is an important parameter to evaluate the likelihood of growth of fluoroquinolone-resistant mutants for antimicrobial-pathogen combinations. The MPCs of fluoroquinolones for different canine pathogens have not been compared. In this study, we compared for the first time orbifloxacin MPCs between susceptible strains of Escherichia coli, Pseudo...
متن کاملPrevention of Escherichia coli respiratory infection in broiler chickens with bacteriophage (SPR02).
Bacteriophages are viruses that can infect and kill bacteria. Three studies were conducted to determine the efficacy of bacteriophage to prevent an Escherichia coli respiratory infection in broiler chickens. In the first study 3-d-old-birds were challenged with an air sac inoculation of 10(3) cfu of E. coli per mL mixed with either 10(3) or 10(6) pfu of bacteriophage, or 10(4) cfu E. coli mixed...
متن کاملIn Vitro Exposure to Escherichia coli Decreases Ion Conductance in the Jejunal Epithelium of Broiler Chickens
Escherichia coli (E. coli) infections are very widespread in poultry. However, little is known about the interaction between the intestinal epithelium and E. coli in chickens. Therefore, the effects of avian non-pathogenic and avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) on the intestinal function of broiler chickens were investigated by measuring the electrogenic ion transport across the isolated ...
